About the Album

No Trace of Rain - Paid In FullThis album has been a journey. It has been a journey of faith – faith that God has something more to say than what we could convey through these songs. It has been a journey of support – support from family, friends, and fans cheering us on to complete the task. But, through the whole process of recording, it has been the same journey we have walked through the last 18 years – an experience where God was in control and His timing was and is always perfect. We’ve had so much fun working out these new songs. This is a milestone in that several of these songs were penned by members of PIF for the first time in history. All are original recordings as well for PIF. Praise God for His blessings and love! Thanks to all of our friends, family, and most of all, fans who have been there through it all. Also, many thanks to David Staton and Gus Gaches for a job well done on vocal production. To Woody Wright, our producer, supporter, and most of all, friend, thanks for the excellent production on the music – it’s outstanding, as always!

The Songs

For 18 years, it’s always come down to the songs. As much as we love singing and making harmonies and music that “fits” us, if it doesn’t send the right message, it’s all for nothing. We’ve been blessed over the years to come in contact with some fantastic writers and this album is no exception to that rule. We’re also proud to debut writings from PIF group members for the very first time. Here’s a quick note on each song and how we came upon it. We hope you enjoy the quick recap!

Truth Be Told by Patti Hawkins
Solos: All Members
You may recognize another popular song by Patti in our previous album, Lovin’ Out Loud. We still get many requests for What the Storm Does Not Know. Patti is a superb songwriter and we are thrilled to include one of her latest compositions to kick off the album.

I Go To Jesus by Lance Moore
Solos: Lance Moore
The second of two songs written by Lance Moore fills the respective slot on the album. Lance will get into the wheres and whys later, but we’re a little proud of this ballad!

This is the Day by Bradley Littlejohn and Lance Moore
Solos: Lance Moore
“Hey, Lance, I have some lyrics but can’t find the melody. Want to give it a shot?” . . . “Hey, why not, send it over”. And that was it. This is the Day is the first collaboration between lifelong friends, Bradley Littlejohn and Lance Moore (charter members).

Praise Makes the Walls Come Down by Kenna West
Solos: Brock White
Now, here’s a style all it’s own! We were introduced to Kenna’s writing by David Staton of Song Garden Music Group. From the first listen, we knew we liked this. There’s a certain “edge” to the music that we just couldn’t resist! More from this writer in a later song . . .

Lead On by Bradley Littlejohn and Dianne Wilkinson
Solos: Bradley Littlejohn
When you team up with the writer of “We Shall See Jesus”, it’s pretty much going to work out! Bradley’s deep and unique lyrics in collaboration with master songwriter, Dianne Wilkinson, offer a memorable tune that features just a little mountain soul!

My Soul is Firmly Anchored by Woody Wright and William J. Gaither (featuring Gene McDonald)
Solos: Bradley, Lance, and Gene
Hmmm, we always liked Woody’s “wrighting.” And, Mr. Bill Gaither is a no-brainer. So, why not throw in super-bass singer, Gene McDonald to round it out! This one’s for all you folks to say at concerts, “Weren’t you guys a quartet once?”. Nope, never were . . . but here’s a glimpse of what would be.

Waiting for the Morning by Lance Moore
Solos: Lance Moore
Lance’s very first effort at songwriting turns out to be a pretty catchy tune!

Light Doesn’t Make a Sound by Woody Wright
Solos: Bradley Littlejohn
Woody’s back with a very unique and moving ballad. This is Woody’s writing at it’s finest in our opinion.

It Takes Faith by Kenna West
Solos: Lance Moore
Again, a Kenna West song that really grabbed us. Very well written and a blast to sing!

Faith Moved a Mountain by Cody Farrar
Solos: Brock White
You know those songs that you just smile at? The ones that you know you’re going to play again half-way through the song? We’re glad to include this number written by Cody Farrar.

The Other Side by Stephen Hill
Solo: Lance Moore
If you’ve heard a Stephen Hill song (Happy with You, Lord & Five Little Fingers), you know you’ve heard something special. This song has been on the backburner for too long. We wrap up the album with one of the sweetest songs on the hope of heaven we’ve heard.

WOW!! Great job!! I love this album. I like all of the different styles and messages. I enjoyed hearing Gene on the one song, but I don’t think y’all need a bass.

I had already made my list before reading this “About the Album” page, and was pleasantly surprised by the information. Here are my favorites, although there wasn’t a single song that I didn’t like. I won’t be pushing the “next” button to skip a song when I listen to this CD!
